Ventilation & airway management

Brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and neurological disorders, such as motor neurone disease, can all lead to the need for ventilator care and support. Our Complex Care Assistants are trained and supervised by our Nurses in ventilation and airway management so we are able to support clients requiring ventilation.

The training our Complex Care Assistants receives includes the following:

  • tracheostomy care;
  • tracheostomy changes;
  • tracheal suction;
  • ambu-bagging;
  • chest percussion; and
  • administration of oxygen therapy.

Ensuring the safety of our clients and the quality of our service provision is a priority for TPG Complex Care. Our Clinical Governance and Quality Assurance processes, such as our Complex Care Assistants Supervision processes, means that we proactively monitor the condition of our clients, reducing the risk of complications developing and their health worsening.
